Nebraska Weather And Climate

Nebraska Weather is effected by the fact that the state is divided into two parts, the western third is drier than the eastern two-thirds of the state. Temperatures are variable throughout the state, and the lack of any major body of water nearby means that tropical and artic airflows dictate the temperature at any given time. Nebraska's temperature can range from frigid and well below 0°F in the winter to hot in the summer. Snowfall averages about 30 inches statewide, while rain is more prevalent in the southeast at around 30 inches and lower in the panhandle at around 13 inches.

Nebraska is located in Tornado Alley, and severe damage is possible. Thunderstorms are also common in the spring and fall.
