Utah Weather is influenced by high elevation that most of the state enjoys, combine with low humidity. Most of the state gets around 15 inches of precipitation in a year, with the Great Salt Lake Desert getting about 5 inches and some higher elevations getting much more. Some mountains can get 350-500 inches of snow in a season.

Utah gets very few tornadoes, although one did touch down in Salt Lake City a few years ago. Utah also gets about 40 thunderstorms a year.
